FAQ's: Every year brings new and unforeseen questions, but here's a few that typically come up:
ARE DOGS ALLOWED? Yes! Please keep your pups on a leash or closely observed if you want to throw the frisbee, or similar activities.
CAN WE HAVE CAMPFIRES? Yes, with caveats: Fires can only be lit in designated fire-rings. These will be dispersed throughout the camping areas, as will firewood. Please respect this, and we get REALLY mad when brewery or event property is burned.
CAN WE BBQ? Yes. If you bring a grill to contain it, save me a burger!
WHERE DO WE PARK? In the gargantuan field directly adjacent to the brewery grounds to the south. The parking area leads to the event entrance. IF you are camping, you will need to portage your gear from this lot. Sorry, but it's only a couple hundred yards, tops. NO CARS WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARK ON THE BREWERY GROUNDS.
HOW DO I STAY FEELING FRESH AND CLEAN? There will be a shower truck on-site. Private stalls, cleaned throughout the weekend, open all-day, all-night.
DO I NEED TO FEAR FOR MY SAFETY? No. Aside from the superlative level of sophistication and maturity of our clientele, we have a professional
security team hired for the weekend. If you run into any miscreants, seek out a PEACE KEEPER, or someone in a STAFF shirt will find one for you.
There will also be an EMT on-duty in a clearly marked tent for the duration of the festival.
IS THERE AN ATM ON-SITE? Sorry, no. And the closest ones are about 3 miles away. Please plan to bring cash for food vendors, hot-air ballon rides, and the Ommegang-Duvel cash-bar that opens after the tasting session. The brewery store accepts credit cards.
IS IT REALLY "UNLIMITED" SAMPLING FROM 2-6? Not exactly. In compliance with NY State Liquor Authority rules, attendees are given a set number of tasting tickets at the beginning of the event. As these run out, you are allowed more, as long as you are not displaying signs of intoxication when requesting these. This will be monitored by a TIPS certified employee.
Any further questions? Please contact Tara, Event Director, at tara@ommegang.com.
