Snommegang 2018

Snommegang logo

Our Snommegang Invitational Beer Festival is a celebration of the passionate pursuit of perfection shared by brewers across the country. To celebrate this noble endeavor, we proud to announce that in March 2018, we’ll host Snommegang in two locations: the inaugural Snommegang Lake Placid, and the fifth annual Snommegang Oneonta. For the Oneonta event, we’ll once again partner with America On Tap, the country’s leading producer of premium craft beer festivals, to expand this increasingly popular beer festival this winter in the City of the Hills.

Snommegang Lake Placid is Saturday, March 3 from 2-6 pm at the beautiful High Peaks Resort and will feature some of America’s best breweries, their medal-worthy beers, and hors d’oeuvre stations. Enjoying these delicious beers will be all the better thanks to the breathtaking back drop of Lake Placid, a truly dazzling winter landscape where visitors can experience a one-of-a-kind cross section of awesome beer, delicious food, and world-class alpine sport. Beyond the pour, visitors can enjoy Saturday late-night specials at area bars and Sunday hair-of-the-dog brunch specials around town.

Snommegang Oneonta is Saturday March 10 from 2-6 pm on historic Main Street in Oneonta, NY and will also feature around 30 breweries from across the United States. The beer tasting is accompanied by live music, food and activities – all within heated tents along Muller Plaza and surrounding businesses on Main Street. Music and activities in Muller Plaza are free and open to the public, and tickets are only required for the tasting portion of the event.

Both Snommegang events are for guests age 21+. Tickets for both locations are on sale now. Snommegang Lake Placid tickets are $50 each and available on TicketFly.com. Tickets for Snommegang Oneonta vary in price depending on group size and purchase date. Visit Snommegang.com for more details.

America On Tap Beer Festivals is the first and only national live event series dedicated to showcasing specialty and craft breweries from around the globe, while also delivering authentic, craft beer-focused experiences filled with live music, great vendors, and delicious local food. Ommegang is pleased to continue their partnership America On Tap in 2018.

“As a proud Upstate brewery, we take great delight in celebrating our long, snowy season, embracing the beauty of this winter wonderland,” says Doug Campbell, our brewery president. “To add such a storied location and a fantastic partner as Village of Lake Placid to the Snommegang schedule represents a great evolution of the very strong event we’ve already built with America On Tap in Oneonta.”

“We are excited to continue our partnership with Brewery Ommegang and couldn’t be happier to see the Snommegang Festival expand to an additional location” said Brittany Gilman, Marketing Manager, America on Tap. “The Snommegang festival experience and reputation will only strengthen now with two weekends of overflowing fun and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.”

We hope to see you at Snommegang this winter!

Harvest Weekend Experience 2017

Brewery Ommegang and The Farmers’ Museum have teamed up for a Harvest Weekend Experience in the village from Friday, September 15 until Sunday, September 17. The multi-faceted event includes a New York State Farm to Table Dinner at the brewery on Friday night from 6-9:30 PM and a harvest festival at the museum on Saturday and Sunday. The dinner will also serve as the launch event for Hopstate NY 2017, an IPA brewed with 100% NYS-grown hops. Local lodging properties have created packages to host out-of-town visitors for the weekend.

The brewery’s NYS-inspired, grown, and raised dinner is an all-inclusive, three-course, family-style beer pairing experience on the brewery lawn bookended with charcuterie and dessert hours. Guests will have the opportunity to wander in the Ommegang hop yard, and mingle with NYS hop growers and farmers who contributed ingredients for night’s meal. Each course of the meal is paired with a different Ommegang beer including the brand new Hopstate NY 2017. Each guest will also receive a discount voucher for the brewery store for redemption that weekend. Tickets for dinner are $135/person (includes tax) and attendees must be 21+ to attend.

The Farmers’ Museum’s 39th Annual Harvest Festival is a regional favorite, bringing together a wide range of performers, artisans, and exhibitors. Guests will enjoy hands-on activities, artisan demonstrations, live music and dance performances, wagon rides, crafts and more in addition to the museum’s outstanding collections and interpretative exhibits. The festival is from 10 am to 5 pm, each day. Admission is $12/adults (13-64), $10.50 seniors (65+), and $6/children (7-12). Children (6 and under) are free. The event is all ages.

A few local hospitality properties are offering weekend packages for the Harvest Weekend Experience. Please click on an individual property to view available packages and to book directly with the property. Packages all include dinner tickets and admission to the festival so there’s no need to purchase those separately.

Bend the Knee Golden Ale

Hi, friends!

We’ve finished brewing and packaging our latest Game of Thrones-inspired beer, Bend the Knee Golden Ale, and the beer is now working its way from distributors to your favorite stores and bars. The official release date for Bend the Knee is today, May 22. The beer is now available in many locations across the country and it will be available in many more locations by Memorial Day Weekend.

Game of Thrones Life Size Iron Throne Replica

If you are in the Cooperstown area, Bend the Knee will be available at the brewery this Saturday, May 27, from 11 am to 9 pm. We’ll also have a replica Iron Throne from the show on site at the brewery that day. All guests are welcome to take a seat (and a photo) on the most powerful seat in Westeros. Photos on the Iron Thrones are available from 12-8 pm on Saturday.

Ommegang is currently not distributed in Mississippi, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming so unfortunately Bend the Knee will not be for sale in these states. Outside of the United States, Bend the Knee  may only be available in Ontario, Canada. There is not currently a release date set for Canada. We’re working with our distributor there and we’ll update this post when/if we have one.

We have a beer finder that will show the locations that the beer has been sold to. The beer finder works by aggregating sales data from the distributor and it is uploaded often a few days after the sale into the account. With the great demand it might even be sold out by the time it is listed on our beer finder, so we strongly encourage you to call your local retailers in advance to ask about availability. When you find Bend the Knee, you can tag a photo of the beer with #GoTxOmmegang on social media to let friends know where you found it.

GoT 9 ALL Black Background Small

It is illegal for us to sell online or directly to customers who are not at the brewery, so we cannot do any online orders. There are a few websites that are allowed to sell beer directly to fans and we will post those here as they come in. For starters, keep an eye out on Craftshack.com which typically carries our limited release beers.

Happy hunting.

Foster the People was founded by Mark Foster in Los Angeles in 2009. The group achieved success with the 2011 release of their debut album Torches, which has sold nearly two million albums and over ten million singles worldwide. Torches features the #1 hit single “Pumped Up Kicks,” which was declared “the year’s anthem” by SPIN, and also spawned the chart topping singles “Don’t Stop (Color  On The Walls),” “Houdini,” and “Helena Beat.”

Foster the People garnered three Grammy nominations for their monumental debut, including Best Alternative Album, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Pumped Up Kicks” and Best Short Form Music Video for “Houdini.”

Foster the People’s sophomore album, Supermodel, was released on March 18th, 2014. Produced by Paul Epworth and recorded in various locations around the world, the album reached number three on the U.S. album chart. Two singles, “Coming of Age” and “Best Friend,” hit the Top Ten of the alternative chart.
