WHAT DOES OMMEGANG MEAN?
When King Charles V, the Holy Roman Emperor, visited medieval Brussels in 1549 with hundreds from his Royal Court, local merchants, vendors, cooks, brewers, musicians, theater troupes, dancers and more lined up around the city walls and joined in a celebration as his entourage passed by. That parade became known as the “Ommegang,” a word that variously means “coming together” and “walking about.” The Brussels Ommegang Festival continues to this day.
Oh-ma-gong? Om-ah-gang? WHAT’S THE CORRECT PRONOUNCATION?
We say OH-mah-gang.

WHAT IS BOTTLE CONDITIONING?
A traditional Belgian brewing technique, bottle conditioning involves the addition of a small amount of yeast and sugar to the beer just before packaging to produce a secondary fermentation in the bottle. This uncommon practice creates a remarkable depth of flavor, and results in a beer that tastes fresher, better, longer.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WORK AT BREWERY OMMEGANG?
It depends on the season. We have about 50 year-round employees and our summer staff adds about 50 more.

WHERE CAN I FIND THE CODE DATE, AND WHAT DOES IT TELL ME?
All of our bottles, cartons and keg rings carry two sets of codes. The first tells us the date and time the beer was packaged, along with other technical details. The second provides a suggested “best by” date. Bear in mind that the best by date varies widely by beer style and is in any case a guideline. Beer that has been properly stored may remain in a good drinking window for considerably longer.

Our beers are currently sold in 47 states – see our Beer Finder for locations near you. Our beers are not available outside the US and Canada, and we are unable to ship outside of New York State. We’re sorry!

I HEARD THAT OMMEGANG IS A MEMBER OF A FAMILY OF CRAFT BREWERIES. IS THAT TRUE?
It’s true. Our parent company is Duvel Moortgat in Belgium, a fourth generation, family-owned business that has been brewing amazing beers since 1871. They were an initial investor in Ommegang back in the 1990s, and became our sole owner in 2003. In addition to Ommegang, the family includes Boulevard Brewing Company and Firestone Walker in the U.S., and Duvel, Liefmans, Brasserie d’Achouffe, Maredsous, Vedett, De Koninck, Bel Pils, Brouwerij ‘t IJ and Birrificio del Ducato in Europe.

WHERE ARE CONCERTS AND EVENTS HELD?
Concerts and other events are held in the natural amphitheater at Brewery Ommegang unless otherwise noted. Brewery Ommegang is located at 656 County Highway 33, Coopestown, NY 13326.
WHERE IS PARKING FOR THE EVENTS?
Parking for all on-site Ommegang events is located in the field just south of the brewery. Signs and staff will direct you to a safe parking spot. Handicap parking is available in the field near the entrance to the brewery grounds. Please let a staff member know if you need assistance.
HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS AND WHERE CAN I BUY THEM?
Tickets prices differ depending on the event. We offer concert tickets online, by phone, or in person at our store. Click on the event you would like to see for options.
DO YOU SELL A DESIGNATED DRIVER TICKET?
Designated driver tickets are only available for our beer events.
CAN I BRING MY CHILD?
Ommegang offers several family-friendly events with fun for everyone. For our summer concerts, children five and under do not require a ticket or camping pass. Please note, children are not allowed at our beer events as noted in the event description.
CAN I BRING MY DOG?
Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed at Ommegang events. We all love our furry, canine friends, but want to ensure a fun and safe environment for everyone.
CAN I CAMP AT A CONCERT?
Why yes you can. Only tents are permitted – no RVs or other vehicles are allowed in the camping area. Signage and staff will direct you to the camping area, approximately 100 yards from the concert grounds. Security will enforce concert and camping area restrictions. Camping is not sectioned off to separate families or groups, but please be respectful and courteous to your neighbors.
CAN I BRING BEER, WINE OR LIQUOR?
No outside alcohol is permitted on our premises, but Ommegang beers are offered at every event. No glass containers of any sort may be brought onto our grounds.
CAN I BRING A PICNIC?
We offer a wide selection of food from great local vendors, so no outside food or beverage is allowed at our events. One exception: campers may bring food, though it must remain in the camping area.
WHAT IS THERE TO EAT?
Café Ommegang and other fantastic local vendors sell food at Ommegang events. There is a wide array of options from frites and sandwiches to barbeque and vegetarian options. Vendors will also sell non-alcoholic beverages, and a selection of Ommegang beers will be available in the beer tent.
WHAT IF SOMEONE IN MY GROUP NEEDS ASSISTANCE?
We employ Westcott Security at our events, and have an EMS station for any medical concerns. If you need assistance, please let security personnel or an Ommegang staff member know.
